Charlene R. Best-Mcdaniel

Charlene R. “Char” Best-McDaniel, 46, of New Philadelphia, died May 29, 2010, surrounded by her family, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born March 24, 1964 at Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Margie R. (Siggers) Best.

Charlene had worked at Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center and as a babysitter. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Charlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Charlene is survived by her five children, Jerimiah Hartline of New Cumberland, Hayley Hartline of Stonecreek, Derek Cross of Scio, Dillon Cross of New Philadelphia and Wyatt Fluharty of Bowerston; a granddaughter, Rylee Alexis Heter of Stonecreek; her three sisters, Jane Best of Uhrichsville, Paula and husband Bill Hupp of New Philadelphia, and Angel and husband Marty Hupp of the Tappan Lake area; and her nieces and nephews, Todd and Sarah Edmonds, Jessica and Dacey Stucin and their two children Caiden and Ashton, Ashley Hupp, Heather Best, Patrick Best, and Andy Hupp.

In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by a nephew, Charles Thomas Edmonds.

Services for Charlene, officiated by Pastor Milo Baker, will be held Wednesday June 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm in the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Internment will follow at Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the funeral home.

Those wishing to honor Charlene’s memory with a memorial donation are encouraged to do so to Hospice of Tuscarawas County or the American Cancer Society.
