Carolyn S. Norman

Carolyn Sue Norman, 71, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born December 21, 1946 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Josephine Verna (Kaelin) Wells.

Carolyn was a 1964 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a lifelong Twin City resident. For many years, she was employed as a sales associate at Elder-Beerman’s in New Philadelphia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who delighted in her family, especially attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed crafting and playing cards with her friends.

On August 19, 1967, she married Rick A. Norman with whom she enjoyed over 45 years of marriage until his passing on February 15, 2013. They are survived by their children, Patrick (Joell) Norman, Jeffrey Norman, Heather (Gary) Watkins and Stacie (Aaron) Bowman; grandchildren, Brittany, Brennon (Karleigh), Reagan, Dustin, Erin, Tori, Braden, Cade, Keira, Rees and Bree; and great-grandchildren, Zarah and Zayden, with one more expected. Carolyn is also survived by her siblings, Jack (Judy) Wells, Janet (Bill) Wolfe, Kathy Wells, Marilyn (Don) Garrett and Marti Wells; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Marianne and Gary Norman, Carolyn and Dennis Jones, and Jill and Larry Harer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services, officiated by Rev. Gordon Furbay, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
