Carol Ann Ross, 72, of Uhrichsville, passed away at her home on Monday, March 29, 2021, following a period of declining health. Born June 18, 1948 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late James William and Frances Margaret (Masnaghetti) Heakin.
A resident of Uhrichsville for nearly her entire life, Carol was a member of Uhrichsville High School’s last graduating class in 1966. She furthered her education at the Miami-Jacobs Junior College of Business in Dayton, preparing her for her long career as Clerk of Courts for Tuscarawas County Court Southern District in Uhrichsville from which she retired in 2010. She was active in her community as a member of the Twin City Rotary Club and a volunteer at Trinity Hospital Twin City’s Coffee Bar. She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison.
On November 12, 1983, Carol wed Raymond Eugene Ross and enjoyed over thirty years of marriage with him until his death on April 14, 2014. She proudly and lovingly supported him in his role as Uhrichsville’s Chief of Police, and she missed him deeply since his passing. Her surviving family includes her younger brothers, Allen (Nancy) Heakin of Rapid City, South Dakota and David (Theresa) Heakin of Uniontown, Ohio; brother-in-law, David Ross; beloved nieces and nephews, Andrew, Allison, Ryan, Emma, Mary, Joanne, Angela, and Ramona; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, including Mason. She will also be missed by her dear feline companions, Abby and Angel. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Peter and Donna Ross; brother-in-law, Joseph Ross; sister-in-law, Jayne (Kohler) Ross; and nephew, Timothy Ross.
Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the memorial Mass on Monday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Carol’s family will receive callers at the church for an hour prior to the Mass. She will be interred beside her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Immaculate Conception Church’s Memorial Book Fund, 206 N. 1 st St., Dennison, OH 44621.
