Carol J. Martini

May 22, 1938 — December 3, 2008

Carol J. Martini, 70, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 in Twin City Hospital at Dennison, O., following a lengthy illness, having battled Multiple Sclerosis since 1969.

Born May 22, 1938 in Flushing, O., she was a daughter of the late Fred Charles and Irma Marie (Zucali) Pilati.

Carol was a devoted wife to Francis D. Martini to whom she was married on December 28, 1957, a loving mother to her three daughters, Cheri M. Patterson of Gnadenhutten, Mrs. Ron (Jan D.) Kail of Gnadenhutten and Mrs. Don (Michele L.) Robinson of Canton, and a doting grandmother to her granddaughters, Aliesha and Erica Robinson of Canton.

Carol is also survived by her brother, Charles Pilati and his wife, Carol, of Mogadore, O.; her uncle and aunt, Arthur and Maureen Zucal of Livonia, Mich.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol was a lifelong resident of the Twin City area who had worked as a receptionist for the late Dr. Kuba’s office in Uhrichsville and had also worked for the reservations department of Eastern Airlines. She was a great animal lover and enjoyed doing crafts, especially macramé and sewing, until her illness prevented her. She also enjoyed collecting thimbles.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in the class of 1956. She then furthered her education at the Gayle Institute in Minneapolis.

Services for Carol, officiated by Father Martin J. Ralko, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, during which time a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing to honor Carol’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Immaculate Conception Church’s Altar Society.
