Carmella Marie Parcell, 99, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born April 25, 1920 in Dennison, she was the last surviving child of the late Salvatore and Maria Antonia (Russo) Alfano, having been preceded in death by her siblings, Dominic “Sam”, Carl “Coke”, Pete and Minzeo Alfano, Madeline Purdy, Nardi Dilworth, Rose Silke and 2 infant sisters.
Carmie was a 1940 graduate of Dennison High School and lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. She worked for her family’s grocery store for many years. On August 29, 1939, she married Robert Emerson “Red” Parcell with whom she enjoyed over 60 years of marriage until his passing on December 17, 2000. She is survived by two daughters, Maria Parcell and Robin Ann (Doug) George; grandchildren, Garrett, Jarred and Jenna George; and many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Patrick “Pid” Purdy, and a special niece, Cynthia Schweitzer.
In keeping with Carmie’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
