Carmella A. "Carme" Welz

Carmella A. Welz, 85, of Dennison, passed away at her home on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Born June 15, 1930 in Weirton, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Carmello Cirincioni and Lucy (Liberto) Cirincioni Campeti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather who raised her like his own, Patsy Campeti.

A resident of Dennison for most of her life, Carme was a 1948 graduate of Dennison High School who enjoyed getting together with her classmates each month for many years. She also was a member of TOPS, enjoying their weekly meetings. Carme liked to cook for family and friends and is especially noted for her homemade spaghetti and banana nut bread. She loved spending time with her family and close friends, Nancy Parcel and JoAnn and Ray Miles. Carme was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison.

On June 18, 1949, she married the love of her life, Floyd O. Welz, with whom she enjoyed over 47 years of marriage until his passing on September 8, 1996. They are survived by daughters, Karen (Bill) Koch, Debra (Dennis) Rhoads and Linda Welz; son, Thomas (Terrie) Welz; grandchildren, Steve (Chris), Todd (Nicole), Doug (Stephanie), Kristy (Tom), Lori (Brad), David (Angie), Bill (Nicole), Scott, Jason, Nikki, Jennifer, Justin, Tyler and Brandon; and 25 great-grandchildren. Carme is also survived by her sister, Jean Recchiuti, and several nieces and nephews.

Father Jimmy Hatfield will officiate a 2pm service on Tuesday, February 2, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison with visitation for two hours prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s cemetery near Dennison. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
