Byron Berl Jones, Jr., 85, of Dover, Ohio, died suddenly on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Park Village Assisted Living. Born September 15, 1927 in Uhrichsville, Ohio, he was a son of the late Byron Berl Jones, Sr. and Edna Alice (Gardner) Jones.
Byron was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1945 before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country at the close of World War II. Upon returning home, he worked for the Timken Co. for a time. He retired from Cleveland Metropolitan Schools after many years of employment. He was Methodist by faith.
He is survived by his sister, Miriam Andreatta and her husband, Gene, of New Philadelphia; nieces, Debbie Bryan and her husband, Jamey, of Twinsburg and Uhrichsville and Susan Latanich and her husband, Gerry, of Dover; nephews, Scott Andreatta and his wife, Carol, of Hope Mills, N. Car. and Steven Andreatta and his companion, Lori Tunney, of Chicago; and twelve great nieces and great nephews.
Rev. John W. Clark will officiate a graveside service at noon on Saturday, September 22, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Those wishing to honor Byron’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
