Burtis G. Gotschall

Burtis G. Gotschall, 86, of Carrollton, formerly of Uhrichsville, passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Carroll Health Care Center in Carrollton. Born on March 19, 1926 in Kilgore, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles Wesley and Clara Ann (Palmer) Gotschall. Burt retired from Weirton Steel and loved to ride bicycles. He also enjoyed attending the Church of God.

Burt’s surviving family includes daughters, Mary (special friend, Jim Randalson) Wood of Amsterdam, Connie Gotschall of New Philadelphia, Cindy (Robert) Fenton of Warren, Carrie (Allan) Gause of West Farmington, Candace Lenarz of Uhrichsville; a son, Charles (Glenna) Gotschall of Carrollton; brothers, Dean (Sandra) Gotschall and Charles (Mavis) Gotschall, all of Carrollton; sisters-in-law, Martha and Bertha Gotschall of Carrollton; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren with another expected; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Burt is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Karen Sue Roy; sisters, Mary Jane Ohler and Jean Smith; and brothers, Lester and Dave Gotschall.

Services for Burt, officiated by Pastor Dean Teal, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Carrollton’s Westview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
