Brian K. Zurcher

March 1, 1961 — July 13, 2014

Brian Keith Zurcher, 53, a lifelong resident of Uhrichsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Aultman Hospital in Canton while surrounded by his loving family. He had fought a long and courageous battle. Born March 1, 1961 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Alvin and Margaret (Beamer) Zurcher.

Brian leaves behind his wife, Elaine B. (Douglas) Zurcher, whom he married June 7, 2013; daughters Melinda Zurcher, Brittany Evans and Jennifer (Josh) Cooper; sons, Dakota, Kohlton, Michael, and Max (fiancée, Bobbie Fellers) Douglas; grandchildren, Haylee and Zane Bower, Suelle Douglas, Brennon Weaver and Jackson Cooper; siblings, Pastor Florence (Michael) McNutt, Margaret Stewart, Arlana Bantum, Alva (Tom) Mackey, Timothy (Margaret) Zurcher, Kathy (Ed Daugherty who was like a mother to him as she raised him after their mother died while he was very young, and Gayleen (Glenn) Brandon, all of Uhrichsville; and many nieces, nepehws, cousins and other extended family members. He will also be missed by his dogs, Jack and Nina, and special cat, Florence.

A 1980 graduate of Claymont High School, Brian was employed for 32 years at Barbour Publishing and will be missed by all his co-workers. He was a longtime member of Uhrichsville Foursquare Gospel Church. Brian enjoyed spending time with his new bride, his children and grandchildren. He loved golfing, and watching NASCAR racing, and the Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Football, as well as Duck Dynasty. Brian was a devoted husband to Elaine and a wonderful dad to her boys, Dakota and Kohlton who called him “Dadeo”.

A service, officiated by Pastor Florence McNutt (his sister), will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 17, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be 3pm to 7pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Uhrichsville Foursquare Gospel Church.
