Brenda I. Amicone

Brenda Amicone, 68, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on December 18th, 2015, after a one-year illness. Brenda was born June 14, 1947 to Scott and Edythe (Soule) Zimmerman of Dennison, who preceded her in death. Brenda attended both Dennison and Uhrichsville schools and graduated from Uhrichsville High School in 1965. After graduation, Brenda worked as a secretary at the former Associated Grocers and at Watkins’ Trucking in Dennison.

Brenda married Anthony L. “Larry” Amicone on February 5th, 1972 and would have celebrated 44 years of marriage soon. In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by her son, Chip (Beth), and her daughter Valerie (Eric), and 4 grandchildren, MaKaila Shaw, Jack, Tate, and Gabe Amicone. She is also survived by her sister, Penny (John) Hall and many special nieces, nephews, sisters- and brothers-in-laws.

Brenda was proud of her grandchildren and family, she was very giving and always put others before herself. She enjoyed family vacations at the beach, cooking for the family, and camping with special friends at Atwood Lake. The family would like to thank the staff at the following: Union and Aultman Hospitals, Regional Cancer Center, New Dawn Rehabilitation Center, and Community Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County and Immaculate Conception Elementary. Also, the family would like to thank all those who sent cards and prayers during her illness.

Friends and family of all faiths are welcome to attend the funeral Mass, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Dennison. There will be no calling hours.
