Braid Junior Weaver

Braid Junior Weaver, 86, of Dennison, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia. Born April 18, 1928 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Braid O. and Gertrude Mae (Cahill) Weaver.

A resident of Dennison throughout his life, Junior retired from Superior Clay Company after 12 years, having previously worked at Stillwater Clay for 7 years and Cantex for 19 years. He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Dennison.

On February 24, 1948, he married the former Beverly “B.B.” Armstrong with whom he enjoyed over 52 years of marriage until her passing on October 17, 2001. They are survived by daughters, Marlene (Mike) Bower of Scio, Nora (Chris) Corbett of Wisconsin, Deborah “Debbie” Westhafer of Uhrichsville, and Ellen (Mike) Sheeley of Oregon; son, Brad (Beth) Weaver of Uhrichsville; 12 grandchildren, Philip, Beverly, Jennifer, Cory, Caleigh, Jason, Andrea, Brian, Scott, Dustin, Destiny and Chad; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by brothers, J. Henry, Walter Eugene and Charles O. “Jim” Weaver; and sisters, Ida Mae Burkhart, Dora Lucille Campbell and Icephine Ekfelt.

Services for Braid, officiated by Pastor George Reichman, will be held at 11am on Friday, January 16, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside his beloved wife in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Visitation will be 4-7pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.
