Bonnie L. Freeland, 58, of Freeport passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 14, 2012. Born on July 30, 1953 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late George L. and Opal J. (Sanders) Freeland. Bonnie had attended Claymont Schools and lived in Uhrichsville for many years before moving to Freeport.
Bonnie had been a cook at the Tippecanoe YMCA camp for many years as well as having worked for various restaurants in the area.
Bonnie will be missed by her family which includes her companion, Herbie Blankenship of Freeport; children, Fredrick L. and wife Lori Freeland of Dover, Bonnie L. Hines of Uhrichsville, and Don R. Barrick of Freeport; grandchildren, Fredrick Freeland, II, Aleisha Freeland, and Sabrina Enos; brothers, George and wife Bonnie Freeland of New Philadelphia and Robert and wife Paula Freeland of Gnadenhutten; sisters, Pam and husband Ray Irwin of New Philadelphia and Connie Dauge of Dover; and numerous nieces and other family members
Cremation will take place prior to services. A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Freeport United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to call at the church from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor David Koch will then be held at 7:00 pm. Bonnie will be inurned with her parents in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Bonnie’s memory with a memorial donation are encouraged to do so to her family in care of Frederick Freeland or Bonnie Hines at any Chase bank branch.
