Blanche Marie Martini

August 3, 1918 — January 19, 2013

Blanche Marie Martini, 94, of Uhrichsville, passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Born August 3, 1918 in Roswell, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Fortunato David and Enrica (Dellago) Martini.

A lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and its Altar Society, Blanche will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her faith and her parish, having served as a Sacristan for many years and as a longtime volunteer at the annual parish festivals where she ran the candy booth along with her sisters. She was employed by several local grocery stores in her younger years, beginning with Greenlee’s, then Marshall’s and finally Mallernee’s Market until her retirement in the mid 80’s. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and a member of several card clubs as she loved to play cards in her spare time.

Blanche is survived by a sister, Anna Mae Martini of the home; a brother, Francis D. Martini of Uhrichsville; a special cousin, Bill Orr of Raleigh, N. Car. whom she helped to raise after his mother’s passing at a young age; eleven nieces and nephews; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews; and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, as well as a host of dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ines, Mary and Lena Martini; two brothers, John and Joe Martini; and three sisters-in-law, Marian, Edith and Carol Martini.

Services for Blanche, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7:45 p.m. during the calling hours.
