Beverly Ann Hillyer

Beverly Ann Hillyer, 79, of Dennison, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia, after a brief illness. Born August 16, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Gladys Fuller.

Beverly was a Twin City resident throughout her life, was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in 1955 and attended Park Christian Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had worked at the former Peoples Discount Drug in Uhrichsville for a number of years. Beverly especially loved going out with her companion, Chuck, and her friends to dance and sing along at performances by Randy Velez.

On December 27, 1958, Beverly married Basil Lawrence Hillyer, Sr. with whom she enjoyed nearly 48 years of marriage until his passing on August 19, 2006. They are survived by 4 sons, Basil Hillyer, Jr., Brian (Connie) Hillyer, Bruce (Amy) Hillyer, and Barry (Bonnie) Hillyer; grandchildren, Richard (Brittany) Patterson, Courtney (Joey) Berni, Broc (Jamie) Hillyer, Hillary (Chris) Campbell, Shalee (Scott) Bloom, and Shatel Hillyer; and 15 great-grandchildren. Beverly is also survived by her companion, Charles “C.O.” Stull; sister, Grace Helmick; sister-in-law, Jane Gardina; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Don Fuller, and sister, Flora McCauley.

Services, officiated by Pastor Michael C. Travis, will be held at 9am on Tuesday, September 1, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
