Betty L. Maculaitis

Betty L. Maculaitis, 80, of Dennison, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Community Hospice’s Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born February 3, 1937 in Maple Grove, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Robert Harry and Lillian Marie (Passeri) Colvin.

Betty was a 1955 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a Twin City resident for much of her life, with the exception of 10-15 years in Florida and Alabama. She was a longtime, faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar Society. Betty’s family will remember her delicious cooking and baking, as well as her love for sewing and her daily walks. She was employed for over 30 years by the First National Bank of Dennison, and was a member of the Jr. Sorosis Club for many years.

In 1983, Betty married Edward D. “Ezzy” Maculaitis who survives her. She is also survived by her son, Michael A. (Sharon) Bruley; stepson, Patrick (Lara) Maculaitis; grandchildren, Alison, Michael and Katherine Bruley; step-grandchildren, Ryan Maculaitis and David, Samuel, Emily, Christopher and Julia Lawrence; brother, Robert Colvin; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Colvin; nephew and niece, Robert (Barbie) Colvin, Jr. and Tracy Colvin; mother-in-law, Alma Maculaitis; and many dear extended family members and friends.

Father Tyron Tomson will celebrate the funeral Mass on Monday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, no visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
