Betty Jean Gladman, 87, of Tippecanoe, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024 at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, Ohio. Born May 19, 1937 in Franklin Township, Harrison County, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Forest Henry and Hazel Irene (Thompson) McGill.
Betty graduated from Dennison High School in 1954 and continued her education by attending business college. She was a lifelong farmer and farmer’s wife, enjoying 4-H and Keystone Saddle Club, where she helped organize many events over the years. Betty was also active in Brownsville Christian Church.
On June 19, 1956, she married Floyd Ray Gladman who preceded her in death on November 2, 2021. They are survived by their children, Ray (Victoria) Gladman, Lee (Devanie) Gladman, and Mary (Jéan) De Witt; grandchildren, Levi (Jeena) Gladman, F. Cayne (Laura) Gladman, Nicholas (Alisha) Gladman, Francesca (Meryl) Weaver, Helena (Justin) Woodworth, Travis (Yvonne) Gladman, Jamie (Mike) Cooper, Jessie Gladman, Talon De Witt, and Kai De Witt; many great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Joan Gladman.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Gladman, and siblings, Carl McGill, Paul McGill, Lester McGill, and Sue Helline.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, she will be cremated. Her family will receive callers from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. She will be interred in Deersville-Patterson Union Cemetery on a future date. Charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to Brownsville Christian Church, 32530 Moravian Trail, Tippecanoe, OH 44699.
