Betty Lucille Cady

Betty Lucille (Haas) Cady went to be with her loving Father and husband on February 22, 2016 after a period of declining health. Born October 28, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Catherine (Schumaker) Haas.
On June 14, 1947 she married the love of her life, Donald R. Cady who she enjoyed 35 years of marriage with until his passing in 1982. Together they raised three children, Donald E. Cady, Jeffery Cady and Kathi (Bill) Haney; grandchildren, Lance (Tracy), Tim (Sue), Craig (Susan), Todd (Marcie) Haney, Nicole (Toby) Angler and Shannan (Christopher) Boone; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Ella, Eva, Kathryn, Ashlie and Arikah; a great-great-grandson who she was introduced to on her birthday, Jaxx Thompson; and siblings, Robert (Katie) Haas, Alvin (Katie) Haas and James Haas and Joan (Frank) Devore. She is preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Hodkinson, Wilma Rapport, and Thelma Armstrong.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister who was also a wonderful cook, a trait that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Betty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was very active in the congregation. She worked several places including Gooding’s IGA, Buckeye Hotel, and retired from Fab Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Point Rehabilitation Center and Community Hospice for the care that was given to Betty.
In keeping with her wishes she will be interred beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery. A private family service will be held. Those wishing to honor her memorial by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to Grace United Methodist Church and American Cancer Society.
