Benjamin Junior Haney, 59, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 13, 2021. Born August 18, 1961 in Dennison, he was a son of Benjamin Cleveland Haney of Uhrichsville and the late Helen Mae (Orr) Haney.
On April 3, 1982, Ben married the former Rose Marie Ferren with whom he was looking forward to celebrating 40 years of loving marriage next spring. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his daughter, Misty (Jason) Clough; son, Jasson (Heather) Haney; grandchildren, Jaelyn and Jacob Clough and Brody Haney; sister, Dorothy Applegarth; brothers, Rick (Dorothy Millard) Haney and Mike (Tammy) Haney; devoted caregiver, Wendy Watson; and a large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Brad Applegarth, as well as his mother.
Ben was a lifelong area resident who was employed by Aleris for over twenty years where he had been a heavy equipment operator in many areas of the plant. He was an avid hunter and tinkerer who loved working on vehicles. Above all else, he cherished the time that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Rev. Larry Malterer will officiate his funeral at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Port Washington-Salem Union Cemetery in Port Washington. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to their favorite charity.
