Beatrice Holden

Beatrice Holden, 87, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia after a lengthy illness. Born January 7, 1924 in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Pete and Anetta (Isaac) Genery.

A resident of the Barnhill area for the past eleven years, Beatrice had previously lived in the San Diego and San Bernardino areas after growing up in Akron. In October 1970, she married John W. Holden, Jr. who survives her at their home. She is also survived by her five children, Annette “Cookie” Buck, Bunny Beal, Becky Cunningham, Kimmy Collins, and Peter Spring; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; a number of siblings; and other extended family members, including nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, she devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.

In keeping with Beatrice’s wishes, she has been cremated without a public visitation or service. She will be interred in Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
