Barry Allen McMorrow, 62, of Uhrichsville, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Born June 7, 1961 in Dennison, he was a son of the late Ernest Paul and Shirley Marjean (Risher) McMorrow whom everyone knew as Paul and Marjean.
Barry grew up in Gnadenhutten and was a 1979 graduate of Indian Valley South High School. He was a resident of Uhrichsville for much of his adult life. He enjoyed a 36-year career with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier and was a longtime member of the Uhrichsville Eagles. Barry loved everything to do with sports whether it was lifting weights, golfing, and playing flag football; coaching Pee Wee Football and Little League Baseball; or just being the spectator and fan. He loved cheering on his favorite teams –the Cleveland Indians and Browns – as well as all of his grandchildren’s sports teams and activities. Most of all, he was a devoted family man who cherished the time that he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
On March 1, 1996, he married Terry Lee (Henry) McMorrow who survives him along with his children, Colt (Laura) McMorrow, Satin McMorrow, Blaze (Savannah) McMorrow, John Aldergate, Danielle (Anthony Atwood) Aldergate, Summer (Brian) Butler, and Sky (Jenn) Abbuhl; grandchildren, Cruz, Nolan, Brinly, Cash, Teagan, Ezrah, Rome, Jensen, Camryn, Hailee, and Tony; brother, Blaine (Pamela) McMorrow; sisters, Paula (partner Chris, deceased) and Pam (Randy) Houghton; many nieces and nephews; and a host of dear friends.
Pastor Lisa Meese will officiate a 1:00 p.m. funeral on Friday, August 11, at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where Barry’s family will receive callers from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Gnadenhutten-Clay Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice or RETT Syndrome Research Trust.
