Barbara Ann Trimmer-Richardson, 89, of Dennison, passed away on January 23, 2021 at Trinity Medical Center in Steubenville, following a period of declining health. Born on June 6, 1931 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Paul Eldred and Florence Barbara (Case) Trimmer.
Barb was a 1949 graduate of Dennison High School who had worked for Area Agency on Aging for a number of years before later working in the radiology department at Twin City Hospital. Above everything else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who especially enjoyed babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barb was an active member of the former Dennison Grant Street United Methodist Church, was a long time member of the Junior Sorosis Club, and had been a Girl Scout Leader.
In May of 1958, Barb married Edwin Lee Richardson who passed away shortly after their marriage in 1964. They are survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann (Rick) Pittis; grandchildren, Casey (Kristin) Pittis and Keith (April) Pittis; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Bridget, Jordan, Sloan, and Boston Pittis, and her great-granddaughter, Charlie Pittis, with whom she was delighted to share a birthday. Barb is also survived by her sister, Lois Jane “Jane” Trimmer; sister-in-law, Virginia Trimmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Paul (Ruth) Trimmer, Bob (Ann) Trimmer, Jack (Carolyn) Trimmer, Dean “Bo” (Ora) Trimmer, Charles “Siki” (Joan) Trimmer, Maxine Trimmer-West, Mary Lou (Gene) Trimmer-McCluskey, and Donald “Moe” Trimmer.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery where she will be interred beside her husband. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Hospital Twin City Auxiliary and Dennison Alumni Association.
