Barbara Ann Rainsberg

Barbara Ann Rainsberg, 79, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Sunnyslope Nursing Home in Bowerston, after a long period of declining health. Born July 12, 1935 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late William Wesley and Grace (Benedum) Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rainsberg in 1976; an infant son, Robert Rainsberg; and her brother, Charles “Chuck” Cole.

Barbara is survived by her daughters: Roberta (Tom) Carothers and Brenda Neininger, both of Scio; grandchildren: Mike (Sheri) Cunningham, Doug (Michelle) Cunningham, Jennifer Cunningham, Ed Neininger, Kelley (Mike) Maykowski, and Kevin (companion, Alicia) Neininger; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A lifelong resident of the area, Barbara was a member of the Plum Run Church until her health prevented her. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her grandson, Pastor Michael Cunningham, will officiate her funeral service at 1pm on Thursday, January 8, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Tunnel Hill Cemetery near Bowerston. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 11am to 1pm on Thursday. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the children’s hospital of their choice.
