Barbara E. Doughty

Barbara Elaine Doughty, 76, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 22, 1940 in New Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late David Ezra and Bernadine Doraleatha (Parks) Garabrandt. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Cottrell, Sr.; second husband, Lawrence Eugene “Gene” Doughty; son, Joseph Cottrell, Jr.; and brothers, Bobby and Rodney Garabrandt.

Barbara was a lifelong Twin City resident and a 1960 graduate of Dennison High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. She loved playing games of all kinds, especially cards and dice, enjoyed music, and in her younger years, loved to dance.

Her surviving family includes children, Barbara (“Pete”) McPherson, Dora Cottrell, Betty (Donald) Rollic, Greg (Tammy) Cottrell, and Julie Doughty-Goodwin; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Marlyn Roahrig, Lois Morrison, Ronnie Garabrandt, Richard (Dorothy) Garabrandt, Kenny (Bo) Garabrandt, David Garabrandt, and Ramie (Linda) Garabrandt; and many nieces and nephews.

Services, officiated by Pastor Larry Malterer, will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison where visitation will be for two hours prior to the funeral. Interment will follow in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
