Anthony Natoli

Anthony Natoli, 91, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Schoenbrunn Healthcare in New Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness. Born December 10, 1920 in Dennison, Ohio, he was a son of the late James and Mary (Casmo) Natoli.

Anthony was a graduate of Uhrichsville High School in the class of 1938 before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Later, he was a graduate of the University of Akron where he obtained his teaching certificate. He was a longtime educator, having taught for Tuscarawas Warwick Schools before spending more than two decades at Conotton Valley High School until his retirement in 1988. In summers, Anthony worked for the local clay industry and loved farming in his spare time. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and enjoyed dabbling in the stock market and in gold and silver trading. He attended Roxford United Methodist Church.

His surviving family includes six children, Rebecca (Doug) Demattio of New Phildelphia, Jan (Nancy) Natoli of Florida, Tonya (Paul) Seibert of Las Vegas, Nev., and Dana (Teri) Natoli, Mark (Pam) Natoli and Raschele (Todd) Hauber, all of New Philadelphia; eight grandchildren, Heather O’Connor, Eric Kinsey, Bo Natoli, Lia VonKaenal, Ali Natoli, Matt Demattio, Nick Natoli, and Brady Natoli; great-grandchildren, Rian O’Connor, Max Kinsey, Grady Kinsey, Garin O’Connor, Cohen VonKaenal and Jack Kinsey; brothers, James Natoli of Uhrichsville and Sam (Shirley) Natoli of Columbus; a sister, May (Virgil) Hicks of Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Rosie Fanti, Jenny Stanco, Mary Trolio, and Marcia Schroll; and brother, Pete Natoli.

Services for Anthony, officiated by Rev. Michael Foran, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow with a military committal service in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Those wishing to honor his memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the American Red Cross.
