Anna Mae Bobzien, 96, of Uhrichsville, O. who had most recently been a resident of Riverside Manor in Newcomerstown passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in Coshocton Memorial Hospital, following a period of declining health. Born in Dennison on May 1, 1912, she was a daughter of the late David L. and Florence (Schumaker) Williams.
Anna Mae graduated from Dennison High School in 1931 and on February 23, 1937 married Harold R. Bobzien with whom she enjoyed over fifty years of marriage until his passing on May 19, 1989. From the time of her marriage, she devoted her life to her family as a loving homemaker and wife, then mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She became a member of the Twin City V.F.W. Auxiliary and also enjoyed dancing, playing cards and traveling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a longtime member of Uhrichsville First Christian Church where, in her younger years, she had been active in a number of the ministries in the congregation, including teaching Bible school.
Anna Mae’s surviving family includes a son, Harold E. Bobzien, his wife, Crystal, and their son, Matthew, of Gnadenhutten; two granddaughters, Autumn Bobzien-Hayes, her husband, David, and their children, Summer and Wynter, of Uhrichsville, and Amber Bobzien-Dennison, her husband, Robert, and their children, Tiffany and Bradlee, of Bolivar.
She is also survived by two step granddaughters, Nicole Cooper, her husband, Donald, and their son, Dakoda, of Uhrichsville, and Rebecca Haugh, her husband, Randall, and their children, Zachary and Joshua, of New Philadelphia; a step grandson, James Riggle of Columbus; a sister, Violet Green, of Uhrichsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Catherine Williams, Margaret Parcell and Rose Scott; and four brothers, L. Eugene Williams, David F. Williams, John E. Williams, Sr. and John E. Williams, Jr.
Services for Anna Mae, officiated by Rev. David Zerby, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2008 in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home at Dennison. Interment will follow at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 29. Those wishing to honor Anna Mae’s memory by a memorial contribution may do so to Uhrichsville First Christian Church.
