Ann M. Granato, 75, of Uhrichsville, O., passed away suddenly on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, O., following complications from surgery.
Born May 25, 1933 in Dennison, O., she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mildred “Millie” (Davis) Dalcoma.
A lifelong resident of the Twin City area, Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison and its Altar Society, as well as a longtime volunteer at the weekly Bingo nights held at the Dennison Knights of Columbus Hall.
On October 29, 1949, Ann was married to Samuel P. Granato, of the home, with whom she has enjoyed nearly sixty years of marriage. They were blessed with four children, Sandra A. Fuller and her husband, Daniel, Tony Granato and his wife, Laura, Todd Granato and his wife, Lisa, and Staci Knisely and her husband, Mike, all of New Philadelphia; and five grandchildren, Keith Fuller of Columbus and Vinnie Granato, Logan and Sami Knisely, and McKenzi Granato, all of New Philadelphia.
Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who delighted in her family. She especially treasured the time that she spent with her grandchildren and faithfully attended all of their activities and events. Once a month, Ann enjoyed fellowship at “Card Club” with friends she has known since high school. Ann had also helped with the bookkeeping for her family’s business.
Ann is survived by a sister, Shirley Hill of Tuscarawas with whom she had enjoyed countless marathon shopping trips; a brother, Joe Dalcoma and his wife, Martha, of Mineral City; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sara E. Orr, Gloria J. Grandison and June Blair.
Services for Ann, officiated by Father Martin J. Ralko, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, in Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. that evening.
Those wishing to honor Ann’s memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Immaculate Conception Church Memorial Book Fund.
