Amy Lynn Lane, 80, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at The Canton Regency Memory Care facility, following a long illness. She was born in Canton on August 31, 1941 to the late Lester Clyde and Melva Jean (Carpenter) Pittman.
Amy was a 1959 graduate of Cadiz High School before earning her Nursing degree from Belmont Technical College. She was a gifted cook and volunteered her time after retirement to making cookies for the Youth Center in New Philadelphia. Also an avid mystery and western reader, she spent many days at the library, searching for new books to read. Amy also enjoyed her time making hand-embroidered cards to send to family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Melissa Livingston, Micah Burdette, and Morgan Burdette; grandchildren, Cherec (husband, Seth) Morrison, Zethan (wife, Kristy) Dickey, Quinn (wife, Karissa) Dickey, Charayah Dickey, Caitlynn (husband, Tyler) McCaskey, Alicia Burdette, and Kaylee Burdette; and great-grandchildren, Zaron, Arielle, and Garrett Dickey, Franklin and Harper McCaskey, and Alistair and Aoife Morrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lawhead; daughter, Melody Dickey; and grandson, Ian Livingston.
Amy’s family will receive friends and family at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14. Appropriate face coverings and social distancing are kindly requested for those who attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer’s Association.
