Alyssa Lee Echelberry, 24, of New Philadelphia, passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, February 28, 2014. She was a daughter of Perry L. (fiancée Carolyn Whary) Echelberry of New Philadelphia and the late Helen Louise (Hidey) Echelberry.
Born October 30, 1989 at Dover, Alyssa had lived in the area all of her life. She was a 2010 graduate of Claymont High School and then continued her education by studying medical administration and medical transcription. Alyssa loved shooting and was very proud to have her concealed carry license. The single most important thing in her life was her son, Kaiden Thomas Merryman and the time she spent with him. Alyssa is a woman that made a difference.
Alyssa’s surviving family includes her son, Kaiden Thomas Merryman of her home; father, Perry L. (fiancée Carolyn Whary) of New Philadelphia; fiancée, Derek McMath of New Philadelphia; sister, Angel Bender of Sherrodsville; brothers, Nakia (Ashley Passio) of New Philadelphia and Niagel (Laurie Davis) Fish of Sherrodsville; nieces and nephews, Braxton Echelberry, Darren Bender, Katlynn Bender, Elizabeth Davis, Amanda Davis, Aaron Davis, Chase Davis, Victor Fish, and Pantara Fish; uncles, Nile Rhoads of Bowerston and Dennis (Debbie) Rhoads of Uhrichsville; aunt, Brenda Hidey of Uhrichsville; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her grandparents.
In keeping with her wishes, Alyssa will be cremated prior to her services. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Earl Miller, will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Family and friends are invited to call at visitation from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial donations for Alyssa be made to the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home to help defray her final expenses.
