Alvin "Bimbo" Haas

January 13, 1930 — April 3, 2017

Alvin “Bimbo” Haas, Jr., 87 of Dennison passed away on April 3, 2017 at Akron General Medical Center. Born January 13, 1930 he was a son of the late Alvin Sr. and Laura Catherine (Schumacher) Haas. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Walter “Red” Stewart, Betty Cady, Thelma Armstrong, Pauline Hodkinson, and Wilma Rapport.

Bimbo worked for the Twin City Water Department for over 30 years. He was an avid Browns and Ohio State University fan, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. Bimbo served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On June 5, 1954 he married the former Kathryn “Katie” L. Clauser who survives him. Also surviving is his daughter, Teena (Ed, III) Fondriest; grandchildren, Amber (Eddi) Daiello and Edward, IV (Hope) Fondriest; great-grandchildren, Brett, Briana, Mackenzie, Eddie, V, Addison, and Eddi, III; siblings, Joan (Frank) Devore, James Haas, and Robert (Catherine) Haas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his feline companion, Miley.

In keeping with Bimbo’s wishes he has been cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date.
