Allen C. Cecil (1946-2017)

Age 70, of Dennison, a beloved husband, father and “Papa” to his grandchildren, died Friday, July 14, 2017, at Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County’s Truman House in New Philadelphia. Born at Dennison, OH, on September 20, 1946, Allen is the son of the late James and E. Helen (Reed) Cecil. He was a graduate of Conotton Valley High School and was happily employed for several years by L&M Excavating. In his younger years, Allen loved growing up on the farm and taking care of his cows and dogs. One of his earliest jobs was the selling of his cows he raised and the corn he planted on his family’s land. Allen loved to tinker in the garage with his collection of tools and mowing his lawn. He was the happiest when he spent time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his grandson, Greydon Boles. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terri (Slocum) Cecil, whom he married on July 26, 1983; his daughters, Bobbi Martin of New Philadelphia, Nikki (Aaron) Hreha of Dennison, and Jamie Boles of Dennison; his grandchildren, Natalie Eck, Allison Martin, Jarrett Martin, Reese Hreha, Regan Hreha and Cruz Boles. Completing the family are his sisters, Evelyn (James) Long, Ardath (William) Croniser, Kathryn (Roy) Lamberton, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation is planned without public calling hours or services. Memorial contributions in Allen’s memory may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
