Allan R. "Al" Davis

Allan R. “Al” Davis, 52, a lifelong resident of Wainwright, Ohio, was called from his earthly home to the more immediate presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Born July 20, 1959 in Dover, Ohio, he was a son of the late Joseph Frederick and Jean Elizabeth (McPeck) Davis.

A graduate of Indian Valley North High School in the class of 1977, Al spent many years as a self-employed heavy equipment operator, working in area oil fields, before becoming the road foreman for Warwick Township which he has done for the last several years. He was an avid motorcyclist who was a member of the Harley Owners Group and was happiest when he could be out riding with his many friends. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. He attended NewPointe Community Church.

Al is survived and will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Katherine Stephens of New Philadelphia; his siblings, David (Linda) Davis, Fred (Sheila) Davis, Ann (fiancé, Jim Pretorius) Thomas, and Linda K. (Michael H.) Davis Smith, all of Wainwright; nieces and nephews, Bryan Davis, Chad Davis, Ray Thomas, Lee (Jessica) Thomas, and Jim Thomas of Wainwright, Brandy (Ralph Jr.) Smith of Sugarcreek, and Nichole Meese of New Philadelphia; great-nephews, Adrian and Adam Thomas and Ezra Smith; a dear friend who was like a daughter to him, Val Lindon; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21. A service and celebration of Al’s life will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
