Alice Jean Beckley

Alice Jean Beckley, 92, of Uhrichsville, passed away on October 20, 2017 at Country Club Retirement Campus in Dover, after a period of declining health. Born April 12, 1925 in Dennison, she was a daughter of the late Smith Baker and Sarah Catherine Shaw.

Alice was a lifelong Twin City resident who attended Dennison Schools and had worked at Vogue Artware, as well as for Twin City Hospital and several area nursing homes. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville.

On May 29, 1976, she married Raymond Edward Beckley with whom she enjoyed nearly 29 years of marriage until his passing on March 11, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel L. Malterer and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Harold E. Malterer; 3 grandchildren; and sister- and brother-in-law, Judy and Vic Stull, who were her longtime, loving caregivers.

In keeping with Alice’s wishes, cremation is planned without a public service. She will be interred in Uhrichsville’s Union Cemetery.
