Alberdine M. Collins, 95, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 25, 1914, in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Elizabeth (DeKleyn) Heil.

She was a strong, beautiful woman who supported her children and grandchildren in all that they did, including many hours spent helping at Immaculate Conception School. A lifelong resident of Dennison, Alberdine was a 1933 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was the organist and a choir member for many years, as well as an active member of the Altar Society. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards with her friends in several card clubs.

On April 3, 1948, Alberdine married Joseph Leslie Collins. They were blessed with fifty-six years of marriage until his passing on August 5, 2004. They are survived by a son, Paul J. Collins and his wife, Marianne, of the home; three daughters, Carol A. Coutts and her husband, Gene “Mick”, of New Philadelphia, Susan M. Kues and her husband, Lawrence, of Loveland, and Janice L. Taylor and her husband, W. Robert, of Cincinnati; and eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Coutts and his wife, Kim, Sarah Artzner and her husband, Andy, Andrew Coutts, Brian, Derek and Matthew Kues, and Gwendolyn and Amy Taylor.

Alberdine is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Heil of New Philadelphia and Althea Heil of Akron, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The last of her generation, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Andrew, Gerald, Bernard, Orville, Paul, and Edward Heil, in addition to her husband.

Services for Alberdine, officiated by Father Anthony Lonzo, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 25, in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison.
